Ferrari F430 GT3

Originally based on the Ferrari F430 Challenge, the Ferrari F430 GT3 is a specialized racing car designed for the FIA GT3 European Championship, but also used in other national GT championships. It is mechanically similar to the Ferrari F430 Challenge, yet has some better developed aerodynamics, including large air exhaust vents in the hood.
Having a full 4.3 L engine the car is more powerful than the Ferrari F430 GT2 counterpart, however the Ferrari F430 GT3 rules require that the car has a weight/power ratio of about 2.6 kg/hp, hence the car has a minimum weight above 1200 kg (2646 lb) in race trim (driver and fuel excluded).[citation needed] Considering the less developed aerodynamics, and about 10% of extra weight, the car is clearly slower than the Ferrari F430 GT2 version; for example in the 2007 Spa 24h race, in which both models were entered, the Ferrari F430 GT3 spec vehicle was about 8 seconds slower in its best qualification lap times than the Ferrari F430 GT2 spec vehicle.

Ferrari F430 GT2

Built to replace the 360 GTC in 2006, the GT2 is a racing car designed to compete in international GT2 class competition, such as in the American Le Mans Series, Le Mans Series, and FIA GT Championship. Ferrari F430 GT2s also compete at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. They are the fastest and most developed racing versions of the Ferrari F430.
In FIA GT2 championship, in order to render the car performances more uniform, the cars are forced to run with a specific minimal weight and with an engine restrictor that depends on the engine displacement. Hence the 4.3 L V8 engine in GT2 races is destroked to 4.0 L in order to compete in the 3.8–4.0 L class, which is allowed to race with a minimum weight of 1100 kg (2425 lb). Using the 4.3 L engine, the minimum weight of the Ferrari F430 would increase by 50 kg (110 lb). In this race configuration, the engine produces somewhat less power, but this is compensated by the lower car weight, which yields a better weight/power ratio.
The Ferrari F430 GT2s won their class championships in the ALMS and FIA GT, as well as scoring a class win at the 2007 12 Hours of Sebring

The Ferrari 430 Scuderia will be Unveiled by Michael Schumacher

The new Ferrari 430 Scuderia will join the road-going V8 line-up alongside the F430 coupe and the F430 Spider. The 430 Scuderia is a truly high-performance 2-seater berlinetta which demonstrates how Ferrari's Formula 1 know-how is carried across to its production cars.

The new model is a special series based on the F430 and is aimed specifically at Ferrari's most passionate and sports-driving oriented clients. Development focused on light weight, minimum trimmings and innovative technology. All this to exalt the car's extremely high-performance and ability to thrill the driver.

The new car can count on an extremely low weight-to-power ratio of just 2.45 kg per bhp thanks to a low dry weight of just 2755 lb - 220 lb less than the F430 - and to the naturally-aspirated 4308cc V8's 510 bhp at 8500 rpm.

Superb performance both on and off the track is assured by a series of cutting-edge solutions. There is the latest software - F1 Superfast - which reduces gearchange times to just 60 milliseconds, and new traction control which, for the first time, combines the E-Diff electronic differential and the F1-Trac traction and stability control in a single integrated system.

Vehicle dynamics, control and performance thus represent the zenith of Ferrari's achievements in terms of developing road-certified sports cars.

The 430 Scuderia will be officially unveiled by Michael Schumacher at the IAA Motor Show in Frankfurt in September 2007.

Ferrari 430 Scuderia

Serving as the successor onto the Challenge Stradale, the Ferrari 430 Scuderia was unveiled by Michael Schumacher at the 2007 Frankfurt Auto Show. Aimed to compete with cars like the Porsche RS-models and the Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera, meaning super light weight, it is lighter (by 100 kg/220 lb) and more powerful (515 PS (508 hp/379 kW) at 8500 rpm) than the standard Ferrari F430. Increased power comes from a revised intake, exhaust, and an ion-sensing knock-detection system that allows for a higher compression ratio. Thus the weight-to-power ratio is reduced from 2.96 kg/hp to 2.5 kg/hp. In addition to the weight saving measures, the Ferrari 430 Scuderia semi-automatic transmission gains improved "Superfast", known as "Superfast2", software for faster 60 millisecond shift-times. A new traction control system combines the F1-Trac traction and stability control with the E-Diff electronic differential. The Ferrari 430 Scuderia does 0–60 miles per hour (97 km/h) in 3.1 s and 0–100 km/h (62 mph) in less than 3.6 seconds, with a top speed of 198 miles per hour (319 km/h).
The cosmetic differences between the Ferrari 430 Scuderia and the Ferrari F430 upon which it is based include a re-styled front fascia, modified side-skirts, twin exhaust tips, a revised rear diffuser design, 19" wheels designed specifically for the Ferrari F430 Scuderia, carbon-fibre wing mirrors, carbon-fibre challenge grille, two racing stripes along the middle and the Ferrari 430 Scuderia badge.

This is a Ferrari Spider Scuderia 16M. A superior version of Ferrari's latest F430, track-ready converted to create the 16 names they celebrate winning this year as manufacturers. Why you always want to convert track car but I was more than sure, why not?
Ferrari F430 Scuderia version of the spider is 80 kilos lighter and 27 contain special ponies to you a little extra kick in the pants. Total 510HP 4.3-liter-V8 engine and sub -3, 000 £ curb weight to improve aerodynamics and you get blistering fast acceleration; 0-62 in 3.7 seconds with top speeds of 196 miles per hour. You can check the full gallery of images below or Scuderia can find what you want to sit in one of the captured 3D Tour .

HW Cars: Ferrari California 2009

Ferrari says the California “is aimed at owners who desire a car which embodies everything the Prancing Horse represents in terms of sporty design and innovation, but also seek a car with greater versatility than ever.” This newest prancing horse is not the “baby Ferrari.”

It is, in fact, a brand-new model complementing and similar in size to the racier F430 with more flexibility in packaging. In addition to having a retractable hardtop, the car can be ordered in a 2+2 configuration – children seating only, please!, or more storage space for weekend outings. There is even a trunk pass-through for skis for those who want to hit the slopes in the winter. And despite a raft of new technologies, the California doesn’t forget Ferrari’s past. The car’s Harlem styling uses several nostalgic elements from the Ferrari 250 GT California Spyder from the late 1950s and early 1960s. Those elements include the large air intake on the hood, the side gills just aft of the front wheels, near identical grillework and similarly swoopy rear fenders. And although the photos Ferrari released to the world’s press don’t do the car justice, Editor-in-Chief Thos L. Bryant — who recently got a sneak peek at the car at the Ferrari factory — says the California “looks absolutely stunning in person.”

Unlike the Ferrari Superamerica from a few years back, which featured a roof that simply flipped backward, the California will come only as a true retractable hardtop; meaning, when the top is down, the rear deck is completely flat — just like the Mercedes-Benz SL, for example. Editor Bryant was also fortunate to see the top in action, and he said it was “quite slick in its operation.” The factory claims it takes 14 seconds to go from open top to fully-closed position.

As with any Ferrari, the engine is the star of the show. In this case it’s a 4.3-liter direct-injected flat-crank V-8 that produces 460 bhp. Even more important is the car’s use of Ferrari’s first dual-clutch gearbox with not six speeds, as on every other recent Ferrari, but seven forward gears. Ferrari claims the California will be able to hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in less than 4 seconds.

In another dramatic move, Ferrari has swapped out its traditional double-wishbone suspension at the rear for a multilink setup on the California. And those amazing (and incredibly expensive, lightweight and fade-resistant) Brembo carbon-ceramic brake discs seen on so many Ferraris these days? Standard issue on the California.

In yet another new move, Ferrari has been unveiling the California bit by bit online on a special website — www.ferrarigtcountdown.com. The first piece released was the sound of the car’s V-8, followed days later by three photographs. More photos and information about the car will continue to be posted in the coming weeks (Ferrari calls it a “virtual voyage of discovery”), right up until the California’s official worldwide reveal at the Paris auto show on October 1. Ferrari says the California will start production in late summer in a brand-new building in Maranello. Fans should see them on sale in Europe by the end of the year, with U.S. sales following later, probably as a 2009 model and priced in the range of the F430.

The first official photographs have been published of the Ferrari California, the latest addition to the new generation of Ferraris launched in 2004 with the 612 Scaglietti and added to more recently with the 430 Scuderia.

The Ferrari California joins the Prancing Horse's 8-cylinder family which has always been defined by power and performance. It also flanks the flagship 612 Scaglietti in the prestige sporty Grand Tourer segment.

The new Ferrari California will satisfy even the most demanding of owners in term of its superb vehicle dynamics and driving pleasure. The new model will be available exclusively as a convertible with a folding hard top. Both chassis and bodywork are aluminium, in line with the rest of the current range. The California will be powered by a new V8 engine mounted for the first time in the marque's history in the mid-front position.

In line with Ferrari tradition, the new model also features several innovations. Apart from its folding hard top, these include the original 2+ concept which guarantees exceptional versatility of use in the rear of the car. The California's 4,300 cc V8 engine features direct fuel injection and a "flat" crankshaft. It generates 460 CV at 7,500 rpm with a torque curve that enhances vehicle dynamics and provides maximum driving pleasure which is typical for Ferrari.

As per the traditional Ferrari transaxle layout, the engine, which allows the Ferrari California to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 4.0 seconds, will be coupled to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission that boosts the car's performance while enhancing the driving pleasure, improves ride comfort and reduces fuel consumption and emissions (c.310 g/km CO2). The comfort is further enhanced by a new multilink rear suspension system. The Ferrari California is also equipped with the exclusive F1-Trac traction control system which made its debut on the 599 GTB Fiorano and has been further honed to suit the typical driving conditions expected for this new GT. Brembo brakes featuring carbon-ceramic material disks as standard guarantee superbly efficient braking.

In addition to sporting the marque's classic styling cues, the cabin has also been beautifully trimmed using quality materials by Ferrari's own skilled artisans. New accessories and equipment, such as the seats, steering wheel, instrument panel and infotainment system, together with optimised aerodynamics ensure that this is a highly ergonomic and enjoyable car to drive regardless of whether the top is up or down.

The Ferrari California is aimed at owners who desire a car which embodies everything the Prancing Horse represents in terms of sporty design and innovation, but also seek a car with greater versatility than ever. The car will be officially unveiled to the public at the Paris International Car Show. However, over the coming weeks, new photographs and further details about it will also be published.
